Supporting Small Businesses in Assembly District 113

Small businesses are not abstract economic units — they are families, payrolls, and livelihoods.

As someone who has built and operated businesses, I understand the pressure that comes with meeting payroll while facing rising workers’ compensation costs, unemployment insurance assessments, and regulatory compliance.

Albany policies directly affect:

  • Hiring decisions

  • Expansion plans

  • Employee wages

  • Investment in growth

The Upstate Disadvantage

Too often, state policy is designed with downstate priorities in mind. What works in Manhattan does not always work in Saratoga or Washington County.

Our district depends on:

  • Hospitality and tourism

  • Agriculture

  • Trades and construction

  • Healthcare systems

  • Small manufacturers

We need workforce development aligned with real jobs, not theoretical programs.

As a member of the Assembly, I will advocate for:

  • Simplified licensing processes

  • Reduced small business mandates

  • Workforce pipeline programs tied to local employers

  • Expansion of vocational and trade education

  • Tax policies that encourage growth, not relocation

When small businesses thrive, communities thrive.
